RESPONSE ACTIVITY: Praise Leaves

Here is a great response activity you can use for talking about Daniel 4 and Nebuchadnezzar’s pride, or any time you’d like to focus on saying thank you to God for the gifts and talents He’s given us!

SUPPLIES:

  • Thank You God For Praise Leaf Printouts on Red, Yellow, Brown, and Orange paper
  • Scissors
  • Masking Tape
  • Markers / Crayons / Colored Pencils
  • Brown Butcher Paper (Optional)

SETUP:

Ahead of time, print out the leaves on red, brown, yellow, and orange paper and cut out each leaf, at least one for each kid. You can also print them on regular white paper and have the kids color them!

OPTIONAL: Create a brown butcher paper tree to put on the wall that the kids can tape their leaves to when you use the activity.

WHAT TO DO:

At the end of your message, transition to this Response Activity. This response activity pairs well with passages like Daniel 4, where someone is bragging or not giving the credit to God for all that God has done and given.

Pass out each leaf and a marker or two. Have the kids either write or draw a picture of a talent or gift that God has given them. Once they have created their leaf, they can tape it onto the wall. As they tape it up, have them pray and thank God for that gift or talent.

DISCUSSION:

Once the kids have finished taping up their leaves and thanking God, gather the kids back together. Then ask them these questions:

  • How can we remember to praise God for the things God has given us?
  • What are some different ways you can say Thank You to God for the gifts and talents God has given you?

Finish by praying for the group and thanking God for all the gifts, talents, and skills that He has given all of you!
